Breast Surgery

Although the incidence of breast cancer is increasing on all over the world, the rate of early diagnosis and treatment is increasing much more satisfactory. Today, with a rough estimate, it is assumed that one out of every seven women has breast cancer, but very successful treatment and survival rates are provided with regular screening and follow-up.

Beginning with the adolescence, the evaluation of each woman by regular self-examination and by a surgeon is mandatory. Ultrasonography until the age of 40, and mammography controls from the age of 40 can prevent undesirable situations.

In patients diagnosed with breast cancer, thanks to the rapid development of the applied surgical techniques, treatment can be provided with limited excision (Breast Conserving Surgery) without loss of the entire breast.

All authorities dealing with breast cancer agree that the most important factor behind success is early diagnosis and treatment, which can be achieved by regular physical examination and screening.
